March - Y6 Geography Presentations
Our Y6 children have become expert geographers as they presented their contrasting locality work to a hall full of parents and family members. The children spoke eloqiently about their projects and clearly put a lot of hard work into them.
March - Y4 Trip to Yorkshire Water
Y4 had a great time on their visit to Yorkshire Water. They learnt lots about how water is sourced and delivered. They also picked up lots of top tips about saving water.
March - STEM Fair
As part of STEM week, Y5 created their very own STEM fair. Children from all classes came to visit to take part in lots of fun activities that they had created linked to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
March - Top Ten Hit!
Our Young Voices choir are in the top ten! The charity single from Heather Small and the Young Voices choir made its way to number 6 in the download charts! Well done, everyone!
March - Bangers and Bingo
Our FOSPAP PTA have put on another great event with a special Bangers and Bingo evening. Everyone enjoyed it and it raised a lot of money for school funds. Thank you to everyone who took part.
March - Reading Restaurant
As part of World Book Week, each class invited parents into school for a reading restaurant! This was a great opportunity for children to share their favourite books with our visitors and celebrate the wonderful world of books!
March - #letgirlsplay
We were delighted to take part in the #letgirlsplay national initiative celebrating girls participation in football. It was wonderful to see all 106 female pupils take part in competitions during a very special afternoon in school. It was also a great opportunity for all children to learn about the inequality both in the past and (unfortunately) in the present for some girls around the world.
September - Young Voices Choir
We have 83 enthusiastic members of the Young Voices Choir who are working hard to learn the songs for our big concert in January! Rehearsals are lots of fun!
September - British Values Day
We have had a special theme day focusing on key British values and looking at how we can use these values in school. Each class has taken part in activities related to the learning of themes such as law and order, democracy and tolerance and understanding of different faiths and cultures.
September - New School Lockers
Our fantastic new lockers are all set up and ready! A big thank you to Mr Holdsworth for installing them all and for our FOSPAP PTA for helping to fund them.
July - Y6 Leavers' Liturgy
It was a moving and emotional occasion as we celebrated our wonderful Y6 children with their leavers' liturgy. The Y6 children each gave leavers' speeches, and along with songs, prayers and a great Y6 film (thanks Miss Meikle!) the children finally said goodbye to Y6 2022!
July - Martin House visit to Reception
Duncan from Martin House Children’s Hospice came into school to thank Reception for naming them as their class charity this year and raising £106 from their Bring a Teddy To School Day. Well done, reception!
July - End of Year Mass
To celebrate a wonderful school year, we gathered with families and parishioners to give thanks for all the blessings we have received this year.
July - Y4 visit from Guts UK
Children in Y4 were visited from Chloe (a representative from Guts UK) who presented the children with certificates for supporting Guts UK as their class charity this year. The children had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the good work the charity does.
July - Visit from The Animal Club
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful visit from The Animal Club. They really enjoyed looking at and petting a number of animals including bunnies, guinea pigs, a snake, an iguana, spiders and a millipede! They learnt lots of interesting facts from Amy; thank you for visiting us.
July - British Heart Foundation Presentation
Y1 had a special visitor from a representative of their class charity - The British Heart Foundation. They were here to collect a cheque for £93.21 from Year 1 after their great fundraising work. Well done, Year 1.
July - Y6 Foodbank Friday Challenge
Well done to the children of Y6 who successfully filled the foodbank as part of the Mini Vinnies Foodbank Friday challenge. They have earned a certificate and an extra playtime voucher but most importantly have made a positive impact to our local community.
July - Sponsored Fun Run for Charity
We have raised an amazing £1900 from our fun run during health week. This has been split between Candlelighters and Leeds Children's Hospital - two charities that are very close to our school's heart.
July - Academy Council Award Winner
Congratulations to Isla (Y6) who was presented with the half-termly award for outstanding behaviour from our school governor, Mr Megson. Isla is a very deserving recipient.
July - Year 6 Production of Oliver
The children in Year 6 have worked incredibly hard to learn lines, stage directions and songs for their Oliver production. The audience were not disappointed as all their efforts were rewarded with 3 brilliant performances. Well done, Year 6!
July - BWCAT Spelling Bee Final
We were delighted to welcome local schools and schools from our trust to the first ever BWCAT spelling bee final! The children were amazing, and the standard of spelling was very high. Well done to everyone who took part. Congratulations to this year's winners - Ss Peter and Paul.
July - Air Ambulance Cheque Presentation
Year 3 had a special visitor from the Air Ambulance team who happily received a cheque for £201! The air ambulance were the chosen class charity for Y3 this year. The children had a special sponsored charity event where they took part in a simulator experience and also donated spare pocket money throughout the year. Well done, Year 3!
July - U11 boys' team presentation
Mr Power was delighted to receive a personalised 22 Liverpool shirt from the U11 boys' football team. The gift was a thank you for a great season!
July - Visit from Aireborough Historical Society
Year 5 were treated to a very interesting talk from the Aireborough Historical Society that linked with their local history topic. It was great to compare Yeadon in the Victorian times to Yeadon now.
July - Music Concert
Parents and children were treated to a fantastic music concert from our talented guitarists and pianists. The children have clearly worked very hard to master these tunes and showed great confidence in their performances.
July - Visit from Councillor Thomson
Y6 were delighted to welcome Councillor Eleanor Thomson who visited school to share project ideas for how they can use part of their Young Apprentice money to support our local community. Y6 have decided to support Zarach Leeds - a bed poverty charity.
July - Presentation of Dictionaries
Year 2 were absolutely delighted to receive their very own dictionaries, presented to them by Sally Mohan of Aireborough Rotary.
July - Y6 Treat Trip to Alton Towers
Using part of the money raised from their Young Apprentice Challenge earlier in the year, Y6 completely funded a trip to Alton Towers. As you can see from the pictures, they had a fantastic time.
July - Yeadon Carnival
It was a fantastic day at Yeadon Carnival. There was a great turn out from Ss Peter and Paul with our school being awarded the 'Best Dressed School' trophy for our brilliant red, white and blue outfits. Everyone had a wonderful day.
July - Y1 Charity Day for the British Heart Foundation
Y1 had a wonderful day dressing in non-uniform and taking part in a special 'game a thon' to raise money for their class charity - The British Heart Foundation.
Thanks to your kind donations, Y1 raised £93 for this worthwhile cause.
July - Gold Award for Ss Peter and Paul
We were all delighted to receive the Gold School Games Award for provision of sport. A big thank you to everyone who has made this possible. Here is the BWCAT CEO Mr Beardsley presenting the award to our PE subject leader Miss Cooper.
June - Ss Peter and Paul Feast Day Mass
For our special feast day, we celebrated Mass in church. It was lovely to celebrate Mass together on this special day.
June - Ss Peter and Paul Talent Show
It was an amazing night at the school talent show. 18 wonderful acts made it through to the final and perfomed brilliantly with incredible confidence. A big well done to all the performers, especially our winner - Norah!
June - Y3 Ancient Egypt Day
Y3 had a fantastic Ancient Egypt day! A special visitor from historytolife led a number of exciting and interesting lessons that the children loved.
June - Dyslexia and Disability Awareness Week
Each class has taken part in a range of activities where they have learnt about the needs and challenges that different learners have. The children have grown in understanding and can now appreciate both the positives and challenges that some people have.
June - Y5 Visit to Armley Mills
Year 5 had a brilliant day experiencing life as Victorian children.
June - Celebration Mass and Communion Party
We had a lovely party after Mass today to celebrate our Y4 children making their 1st Communion. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success.
June - Reception Foodbank Friday Challenge
Well done to our reception class for their foodbank donations. The Mini Vinnies confirmed that they have definitely filled the box! They presented reception with a certificate and extra playtime voucher. Most importantly, they have helped those in need in our local community.
June - Celebration Mass
Together, we celebrated Y4's 1st Communion with a beautiful Mass and procession to the school field.
June - Health Week
We have had an amazing health week in school. The children have taken part in: daily miles, golf, cooking, skipping, fun run, yoga, dental instruction sessions, smoothie making, first aid, netball, mental health sessions, bouncy castle jumping and orienteering.
June - GOLD AWARD
We are delighted to receive the news that we have achieved the Gold Sports Games Award for sporting provision. Well done to everyone who has contributed to this.
June - Y4 First Communion
Congratulations to our Y4 children who have received the Sacrament of Communion for the first time in a very special Mass. They led the readings, prayers and singing, and we are very proud of them all.
June - KS2 Child- Led Worship to the Trust
Our KS2 children have done a great job of leading worship sessions to other schools in the Trust.
June - Y3 Charity Day for The Air Ambulance
Y3 have had an amazing day with staff from the air ambulance. They have raised over £100 by taking part in a helicopter simulator! They learnt lots about the work the air ambulance does too.
May - Academy Council Outsanding Behaviour Award Winner

May - Y4 Charity Event
Well done to Year 4 who have raised over £100 for Guts UK by having a non-uniform day and having a special sports afternoon.

To celebrate the queen's jubilee, we had a special jubilee picnic!
May - May Procession
The whole school enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of devotion to Mary. We had a special time of prayer in Church then processed back to our school field saying the rosary.
May - Reception Visit to Temple Newsam Farm
Reception had a wonderful visit to Temple Newsam Farm; they loved seeing all the animals and exploring nature.
May - Y1 Visit to Harlow Carr
Y1 have had a wonderful day exploring nature at Harlow Carr.
May - Walk to School Week
As part of walk to school week, we have had very popular walking buses. It's been lovely to walk to school together and enjoy the good weather.
May - Healthy Schools Acreditation
We have finally received our acreditation plaque that recognises the work we continue to do to reach the standards of a health school. Well done to everyone who contributes to this.
May - The Beast
After all their hard work during SATs week, the Y6 children richly deserved a treat afternoon of ice creams and experiencing The Beast!
May - Y6 Leavers' Hoodies
A big thank you to our school PTA who presented the Y6 pupils with the leavers' hoodies that they have purchased for them. It was a great way to round off SATs week.
May - Good Shepherd Mass
It was lovely to celebrate Mass at Leeds Cathedral with other Catholic schools. During the Mass, we presented our fundraising cheque to the Bishop and told him about all our fundraising activities.
May - Y5 Residential to Herd Farm
Y5 have had an amazing time during their residential at Herd Farm. They have taken part in a range of outdoor and spirituality sessions and have loved the experience.
May - Y6 SATs Breakfast
During SATs week, the Y6 children have enjoyed coming into school early and having a special breakfast with their friends!
May - KS2 Children Leading Worship
Well done to children in KS2 who have led worship to other classes in our BWCAT family. Well done, children.
April - Y2 Foodbank Friday Mini Vinnie Challenge
Well done to Y2 who received a certificate and extra playtime voucher from the Mini Vinnies today for successfully filling the foodbank box. Most importantly, they have made a great difference to those in need in our local community.
April -Blackpool Half Marathon
A big thank you to everyone who sponsored Mr Power in running the Blackpool Half Marathon. He completed the race in 1 hour 50 minutes. The kind and generous sponsorship raised £1300 that was shared between CAFOD's Ukraine appeal and FOSPAP school PTA.
April - Start of Term Mass
What better way to start the term than a wonderful whole school Mass at church. Thank you to Father David for celebrating Mass with us.
April - Young Voices
What an amazing night at the Sheffield Arena! Our 83 strong-choir (plus staff!) sang and danced with everything they had and were part of a fantastic night's entertainment. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
April - Other Faiths Week
Children in each class have really enjoyed learning about different world faiths this week. They have developed their understanding of the similarities and differences between our faith and other world faiths.
April - Y5 Easter Production
A huge well done to our amazing Y5 children who produced a stunning performance of 'Roll Back The Stone'. It was a moving and very polished performance. Well done, everyone.
April - Spring 2 Spelling Bee Winners
Congratulations to Y6 who have won this half-term's spelling bee trophy. Well done to everyone who has worked hard to improve their spelling score on these tricky words.
April - Academy Council Award for Outstanding Behaviour
Congratulations to the 1st ever winner of the Academy Council Award for Outstanding Behaviour. Beth received her award from governor Mr Price during Celebration Assembly.
March - Stations of the Cross Meditation
Each class has visited the depictions of the stations of the cross meditation that are situated around school. The children have responded in a very respectful and prayerful manner.
March - Y4 Service of Reconciliation
As part of our preparation for Easter, Y4 led the school in a beautiful and very moving reconciliation service. This was followed by individual confessions.
March - Y3 Foodbank Friday Challenge
The Mini-Vinnies think Y3 have done a fabulous job of filling the Foodbank box. Not only have Y3 earned a certificate and extra 10 minute playtime voucher, but more importantly they are helping people in our community!
March - Rosary in the Prayer Garden
A big thank you to our Mini Vinnies who during Lent are leading the Rosary during playtimes in the prayer garden.
March - Y5 Preparation for Confirmation
A big thank you to Father David for visiting Y5 and starting their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. He was very impressed with their observations and questions.
March - Good Shepherd Appeal
As part of our fundraising for the Bishop's Good Shepherd Appeal, we have been playing the Beetle drive game in school and having a whacky hair day! We had lots of fun and raised over £240.
March - Sportleaders
Our fantastic group of sportleaders give up their lunchtimes to organise and run sporting activities for younger children. They have now got new hoodies so they are easily recognised by children in school!
March - Trust Worship
Well done to the Y6 children who led Trust worship for other Y6 classes in the BWCAT.
March - Outdoor Ted Experiences for Reception and KS1
Children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 loved their visit from Outdoor Ted. They took part in a range of fun outdoor learning activities including: listened to bird song, making bird feeders, completing an animal track hunt and making clay hedgehogs!
March - Y5 STEM Fayre
As part of our STEM week, Y5 organised a fantastic STEM fayre where they created a number of brilliant stalls and activities to show what they have learnt. Children in other classes loved taking part in the activities and developing their knowledge and understanding.
March - Ash Wednesday Mass
The school gathered together to mark the start of Lent with a beautiful Ash Wednesday Mass in church.
March - Praying for Peace
We followed the Pope's wishes for a day praying for peace. In each class we prayed for peace around the world.
February - PTA Twosday Challenge
We have had a brilliant response to the PTA's Twosday challenge for 22.2.22. Children have taken part in a range of creative different challenges and have raised over £2,000!
February - STEM Week
We've had a fantastic STEM week in school. The children have enjoyed taking part in a range of science, technology, engineering and maths activities. We've been very grateful to have wonderful visitors who work in these areas and have shared their expertise with us.
February - World Book Week
We had a great week of fun world book week activities where we celebrated the wonder of books. We had a special dressing up day where we had to dress up as a word. There were some very creative ideas!
February - Y2 Charity Event
Well done to Year 2 who held a very successful charity toy sale where they raised over £90 for their class charity. Marie Curie cancer care.
February - Year 4 Foodbank Friday Challenge
Well done to our Y4 children who have successfully filled the foodbank box and have earned a certificate and extra playtime voucher from the Mini Vinnies. Most importantly, these donations will help those in need in our local community.
February - Bible Skills Week
We have had a fanastic Bible Skills Week in school. The children have taken part in a range of activities where they have developed their understanding of the Bible and its contents.
February - School Council
Our school council meet regularly to discuss the contents of the class suggestion boxes and consider ways in which they can improve and develop our school.
February - Visitor to Year 2
As part of Year 2's work on Florence Nightingale, they welcomed one of our school parents, Mrs Fleming, who discussed (and demonsrated) modern nursing techniques. This was invaluable in helping children compare how approaches have changed.
February - Children's Mental Health Week
Children have enjoyed taking part in a range of mindfulness activities as part of children's mental health week.
February - Online Safety Week
Each class has been working hard to learn about how to keep safe online. They have learn about how to use sites and apps safely and what to do if they are concerned by any content they see.
February - Y4 Teaching Class Mass
Year 4 had a beautiful teaching class Mass on the altar. Father David explained each part of the Mass so carefully and was very impressed with the children's knowledge.
February - Y6 Residential to Robinwood
Year 6 have had a fantastic time on residential at Robinwood. They have embraced the various adventurous activities and have enjoyed working together as a team.
January - Mini Vinnie Foodbank Friday Challenge
Well done to Year 5. The Mini Vinnies have decided that you have definitely filled the box and have earned a certificate and an extra playtime!
January - Y5 Child-led Trust Worship
Y5 did a great job of leading worship for other Y5 classes in the Trust.
January - Y5 Teaching Class Mass
Year Five enjoyed their class mass with Fr David. They listened well and asked very thoughtful questions as he explained the parts of the mass and showed them lots of vestments in the sacristy.
January - Young Apprentice Winners
Congratulations to Young Apprentice winner Isla and fellow finalists Elsie and Ciara for three amazing presentations in the Young Apprentice final.

January - Child- led worships to the trust
Each class in school has enjoyed the opportunity to lead class worships with other schools in the trust. Via zoom, they have managed to present and share their worship with other children in their year group in other school settings.
January - Feast of St Anthony
We celebrated the feast of St Anthony during a whole school worship. We learned all about his life and thought about how he could be an example to us in our own lives.
January - Young Apprentice Challenge
Our fantastic Y6 Young Apprentices did a wonderful job of presenting their businesses to Lady Sugar (and her advisors) in the boardroom. From their initial loan of £4 each, they have made a profit of £1,911! Well done, Year 6! They will use this money to make a donation to their class charity (Cancer Research), make a donation to a local community project, buy something for the whole school and fund a treat trip in the summer term.
December - Christmas Class Parties
Each class has enjoyed a class Christmas party. They have had a great time celebrating!
December - Autumn 2 Spelling Bee Winners - Year 6!
Well done to Y6 for winning this half-term's spelling bee competition! They were delighted to receive the trophy which now moves into Y6's classroom!
December - Mini Vinnie Advent Messages
Our Mini Vinnies have been spreading the Christmas message by delivering a message/bible quote from our school Advent Calendar.

Following our Christmas card card making day in school, we have been delivering our Christmas cards to our parish and local community to share the good news of Christmas.

Well done to everyone involved in putting together our fantastic school newspaper. It is packed with all the exciting things we have been doing in school.
December - Reception Nativity Production
Our reception children gave a brilliant performance of 'The Sleepy Shepherd'. The children sang, acted and danced with wonderful enthusiasm and thoroughly entertained their audience. Well done, reception!
December - KS2 Reconciliation Liturgy
Year 5 led a beautiful Reconciliation Liturgy. There were readings, drama, prayers and singing as we celebrated God's incredible love and forgiveness.
December - Young Apprentice Stalls
Our Y6 Young Apprentices have been busy creating and running their businesses this term. The children did a great job of setting up stalls to sell their goods and services. Everyone was very impressed. Well done, Year 6!
November - Liturgical Christmas Card Making Day
Each class in school stopped lessons for an afternoon and became Christmas card making factories! The children worked very hard to make lots of Christmas cards that will be delivered around our local area (and given out after Mass) to share the good news of Jesus' birth and wish everyone a very happy Christmas.
November - Y6 Confirmation
Congratulations to our Y6 children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Marcus. It was a beautiful Mass, and we are very proud of all the children for making this special step on their journey of faith,

November - Christ The King Mass
School and parish joined together for a wonderful celebration of the Christ the King Mass. Children led the readings, prayer and singing and shared a beautiful Mass.
November - Anti-Bullying Week
The children have worked hard to produce some very thoughtful work for anti-bullying week.Each class had a specific challenge around the theme of 'One Kind Word' and they shared this during Celebration Assembly. Our whole school message is that little acts of kindness can be shared and grow throughout our school
November - Mini Vinnies Official Blessing
Our Mini Vinnie group were officially blessed and inducted into their new roles by Father David at Ss Peter and Paul church.
November - Class Visits to Mass
Each class has enjoyed visits to Ss Peter and Paul Church where Father David has very kindly taken the children through the different parts of the Mass. This has really helped to develop their understanding. Thank you, Father David.
November - 1st Times Table Champion
We have our 1st school times table champion! Congratulations to Emma in Y6 who has completed all the times table tests, including both parts of the Hot 132, to become a times table champion!
November - Open Morning
Thank you and well done to members of Y6 who helped with our open morning by giving tours of the school. They did a great job!
November - School Student Council
Our school student council have been meeting to discuss their aims for the year, use of their budget and how best to represent the views of their classmates.
November –Altar Servers
Father David has started training up members of Year 5 and 6 to be altar servers. The children are taking the responsibility and training very seriously; we are looking forward to seeing them serving in Mass soon.
November – Celebration Assembly
Each week, following Friday’s worship, we have a Celebration Assembly where children present their learning and two members of each class are awarded certificates. We now have Y6 children (2 each week, on a rota) who present the assembly and introduce each class. Maisey and Emma were the first presenters and did a great job!
October – Y5 Charity Day for Winston’s Wish
Year 5 have added £90 to their class charity total following a fantastic pyjama and fitness day. The children organised the day’s events and had a great time while supporting a very worthwhile cause. Winston’s Wish is the UK’s childhood bereavement charity and supports children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling.
October – Good Shepherd Celebration at Leeds Cathedral
Our worship leaders were very proud to attend the Good Shepherd celebration at Leeds Cathedral. Elsie and Isla presented a cheque to Bishop Marcus and discussed the school’s foodbank and charity work.
October – Autumn 1 Spelling Bee Winners!
A huge congratulations to Year 2 for being our first ever spelling bee champions! Years 2-6 have been working really hard to learn the 20 tricky words, but it was Year 2 who came out as the winners with an average score of 17.1. Well done, Year 2!
October – Prayer Leaflets
A big thank you to Canon Nunan for donating family prayer leaflets for every child in school. This is a great resource for families to use to pray together.
October – Y5 Visit to Outdoor Ted
Y5 had an amazing day at the Skylark centre for their Outdoor Ted visit. The children loved working together on a variety of adventurous activities such as orienteering and den building.
October – Welcome Liturgy
Our reception children were officially welcomed into our school through a very special liturgy. Father David led a special worship where each child (accompanied by their Y6 buddy) received a candle, name card and a blessing. In front of their parents and grandparents, the children then performed ‘Great Big God’.
October – Y2 Visit from William Petty
Year 2 had a very special visitor when Sir William Petty joined them for the day! The children had an amazing day developing their learning about the great fire of London through a range of practical activities.
October – Singing Liturgy
It’s wonderful to be able to meet together every Thursday for our singing liturgy. Here, a group of Y5 children are teaching the school actions for the ‘Great Big God’ song.
October – Y6 Visit to Outdoor Ted
Y6 loved their visit to Outdoor Ted. The children took part in a variety of outdoor and adventure activities focused on teamwork and problem solving.
October – Harvest Festival
We had a great celebration for our Harvest festival. Each class shared some of their learning about Harvest and presented this in a variety of ways including songs, art and poetry. Each child brought an item of food or toiletries for the local foodbank and sisters of the poor. The non-uniform day also raised £200 for CAFOD.
October – Mini Vinnies
Following an application letter to Mrs Filarowski (our RE subject leader), we have a new group of appointed Mini Vinnies. They will be following the message of – see – think – do – to help others. We look forward to hearing about their work.
October – Y4 Visit to Outdoor Ted
Year 4 had a wonderful time at the Skylark centre for their Outdoor Ted trip. They took part in a number of outdoor and adventurous activities that focused on developing teamwork and collaborative skills.
September – Class Charities
Each class has democratically decided on a class charity that they will be supporting this year. Children will be learning about the work their charity does, creating charity boxes for class and organising a charity even during the year.
September – Young Voices Choir
We have 82 very excited children who are part of our Young Voices choir! The children are working hard to learn by heart all the songs and dance moves for the big concert in January in Sheffield arena.
September – Whole School Mass
It was a very special occasion for the whole school to celebrate Mass in church again. Thank you to Father David for leading a beautiful Mass.
September – Summer Reading Challenge
A big well done to the 42 children who completed the summer reading challenge. Mrs Filarowski, our English subject leader, presented each child with a certificate and a prize in recognition of their fantastic reading over the summer.
September – British Values Day
The British Values of: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs were studied during a special British Values day in school. Each class studied these four principles through a range of interesting and fun cross curricular lessons and activities.
