Mathletics is a fantastic website which allows your child to practise their maths skills at home. It can be accessed by clicking here, and there is even an app for iOS and Android devices. Teachers may set specific tasks for homework, or you can explore the range of activities available. You can explore different areas of the website including
Children play to win certificates, you need at least 1000 points in a week to earn one. The class with the most time spent on Mathletics and the highest total number of points wins a class trophy point.
The password for Mathletics was sent home at the start of the year, if you have lost it please ask your class teacher for a reminder.
Maths passports work through a sequence of mental maths facts which get progressively harder. Every child in school will soon have a maths passport target to take home and work on. Please practise these at home as we believe they will really help to improve all calculation work.
Big Writing happens in school every other Friday. A planning sheet will usually be sent home on Wednesday for you to fill in with your child, to be brought back on

Personal Learning Discussions
Our Key Stage 2 children take part in Personal Learning Discussions with their class teacher in October and February. Attainment levels are discussed and future targets set. A discussion between child and teacher takes place around the actions to be taken in order to achieve set targets. Year 2 hold these discussions only in February. The Personal Learning Discussion sheets are sent home to parents. Many parents find it useful to bring the discussion sheet to Parent Consultation Evenings.
