Competitive Sport plays a big part of life at Ss Peter and Paul. We take part in regular sporting fixtures and events against other schools.

5th December- Y5 Boys' Football Cup- St Paul's 1 - 6 SsPP
The Y5 boys' footballers advanced to the second round of the cup with a 6-1 victory against St Paul's. The boys took the lead in the first half through a free kick from Oliver. Shortly after half-time, St Paul's equalised, but the boys showed great resilience to bounce back and claim the win. Another three goals from Oliver, a goal from Dylan and a wonderful free kick from Frankie secured the win. Well Done to Freddie, Jack and Josh for their Player of the Match performances.
28th November- Y4 Boys' Football Cup- SsPP 7 - 2 Shakespeare Primary
The Y4 boys' footballers progressed to the next round of the cup with an impressive 7-2 victory against Shakespeare Primary. After a close first ten minutes, the boys scored three goals in quick succession to take a 4-1 lead into the half-time break. Another three goals followed after the interval, securing the boys' spot in the second round. Well Done to Hugo, Kobe and Ben who got on the scoresheet, as well as Luke, who got his first goal of the year to earn himself the Player of the Match award.
25th November - Y4 Girls' Football League at Fives Football Centre
The Y4 girls' footballers enjoyed their visit round of fixtures at Fives Football Centre. The girls earned one victory and a draw from their opening three games, showing great behaviour and team spirit throughout. Well Done to Grace and Ailish for scoring some amazing goals.
25th November - Y2 Boys' Football League at Fives Football Centre
The Y2 boys' footballers continued their impressive start to their league season, claiming a win and a draw from their most recent round of fixtures at Fives Football Centre. Joey scored a fantastic goal from distance, meanwhile Ted picked up the Player of the Night award. Well Done to all the boys for showing great team spirit and sportsmanship.
18th November- Y3 Boys' Football at Fives Football Centre
The Y3 boys' footballers visited Fives Football Centre for their second round of fixtures in their football league. The boys picked up a big victory in their first game, and were unfortunate not to pick up any points in their other two games. The boys represented school very well, playing with a positive attitude throughout. Well Done to Theo for winning Player of the Night.
14th November- Y6 Boys' Football- St Joseph's Otley 6 - 2 SsPP
The Y6 Boy's footballers performed very well in their most recent game against St Joseph's Otley. The boys came from behind to take the lead at half-time with Seb scoring an impressive brace. However, St Joseph's managed to score four goals in quick succession in the second half to reclaim the lead. Despite this, the boys carried on battling until the end, and played with a fantastic attitude. Well Done to Seb, Toby and Isaac for their Player of the Match performances.
12th November- U11 Girls' Football League- St Oswald's 6 - 1 SsPP
The U11 Girls' football team played with great spirit in their most recent game against St Oswald's. Mae added to her goal tally for the year with an outstanding goal and was also named player of the match. The girls showed great determination to keep battling right to the final whistle.
11th November- Y5/6 Boys' Football League- SsPP 5 - 4 St Mary's Horsforth
The 5/6 Boys' football team continued their good run of form, with a 5-4 win in a thrilling encounter against St Mary's Horsforth. Frankie and Oliver both scored a brace, whilst Seb also got on the scoresheet to give the lads a 5-2 lead, before a late comeback from St Mary's. However, the boys battled well to see out the victory.
Well Done to Frankie for winning the Player of the Match award!
8th November- Y5/6 Boys' Football League- SsPP 7 - 1 Yeadon Westfield
The Y5/6 Boys' football team made it two wins in two days with an impressive 7-1 victory against Yeadon Westfield Junior School. The boys showed an excellent attitude throughout, with some great defensive displays and some fantastic goals being scored. Keep up the great work, boys!
7th November- Y5/6 Boys' Football League- Rufford Park 0 - 10 SsPP
The y5/6 Boys' football team picked up a brilliant victory away at Rufford Park. An excellent all-round performance was rewarded with a clean sheet, and 10 goals! Oliver scored a hat-trick, Alex scored a brace, meanwhile Albert, Seb, Charlie, James and Toby all also got on the scoresheet. Well Done to Oliver for his Player of the Match performance, displaying great tackling, passing, running and shooting. Well Done to our other Player of the Match winner Harvey, for an excellent, determined defensive display.
24th October- Y5 Boys' Football League- Lady Elizabeth Collingham 1 - 10 SsPP
The Y5 Boys' football team maintained their 100% record in the league this season, with an impressive victory at Lady Elizabeth Collingham.
Ted scored a hat-trick to keep up his excellent goal-scoring form, meanwhile Dylan, Charlie and Elliott each scored two. A deflected goal from Frankie completed the scoring.
Well Done to Ted for winning this week's Player of the Match award.
24th October- U11 Girls' Football League- SsPP 3 - 6 Rawdon St Peter's
The U11 Girls' team played another fantastic game, this time against Rawdon St Peter's. Teegan scored twice and Hannah scored her first goal of the season as Rawdon St Peter's won 6-3. Halle had another fantastic game as goalkeeper, and Player of the Match Molly had an excellent game in defence.
21st October - Y2 Boys' Football league
The Y2 Boys' team remained unbeaten after their first round of fixtures at Fives Football Centre. The boys won twice and drew once, and currently sit top of the league table.
All the team represented the school really well, encouraging each other and praising the opposition after each match. Keep up the good work, boys!
21st October - U11 Girls' Football League - Holy Name 6 - 6 SsPP
The U11 Girls' team showed great character and determination to come from 4-0 to draw 6-6 against Holy Name. Mae, Teegan and Nancy all scored two goals each, with Nancy's second goal coming with just two minutes left to secure the draw. Well Done to Player of the Match Halle, who made a number of excellent saves.
17th October - Y5 Boys' Football League - SsPP 8 - 5 Immaculate Heart
The Y5 Boys' team made it two wins from two at the start of their league season, with an excellent victory against Immaculate Heart.
Having gone behind in the first half, the boys scored five goals in the second half to turn the game around and claim the victory. Oliver scored a hat-trick, Joe scored a brace, meanwhile Frankie, Elliott and Freddie also got on the scoresheet.
Well Done to Joe who was Player of the Match.
15th October- Key Stage 2 Cross Country competition
A big well done to our Key Stage 2 Cross Country team who ran with great determination and perseverance in the Leeds North-West School Games competition. We were fortunate enough to be able to take 39 children, who all represented the school extremely well.
14th October- Y3 Boys' Football at Fives Football Centre
The Y3 Boys' Football team started their league season well at Fives Football Centre. The boys played four matches- winning twice, drawing once, and losing just once. Each game was played in a great spirit, with all of the boys encouraging each other and working well as a team. Cole and Joseph got on the scoresheet, as well as Cormac who scored seven goals! Great start, boys!
10th October- Y4 Boys' Football- SsPP 5 - 2 St Joseph's Otley
The Y5 Boys' Football team won their first match of the school year against St Joseph's Otley. The boys displayed an excellent attitude and thoroughly deserved their victory. There was some great attacking play on show, with Ben, Zach and Kobe (hat-trick) all on the scoresheet. Well Done, boys!
9th October- Y6 Boys' Football- SsPP 3 - 5 Hawksworth
The Y6 Boys' Football team took part in a high quality match against Hawksworth. There were lots of chances in an end-to-end game. Seb scored once, and Oliver scored twice to earn himself Player of the Match. It was an excellent performance to start the season.
8th October- Y5/6 Netball Event - St Mary's Menston
Girls from Y5 and Y6 attended a Netball event at St Mary's Menston, where they took part in drills led by Y10 leaders. After the drills, the girls took part in several 5-a-side games. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves, showing great teamwork and encouraging the other schools. Well Done, girls!
The Y5 Boys’ Football team claimed all three points in their opening league match of the year against St Paul’s.
After a strong start from St Paul’s, Frankie was able to squeeze his shot past the goalkeeper at the near post to give the boys the lead. The lead was soon extended, with Oliver scoring two great goals from distance to make the score 3-0 at half-time.
The second half turned into a goal-fest. St Paul’s managed to pull two goals back, however Dylan (x2), Joe (x2) and Ted added to the three goals in the first half to complete the victory.
The boys showed great determination to earn the victory against a St Paul’s team who had beaten them previously. Well Done, boys!
The Y4 Girls’ Football team won their first match of the school year against St Oswald’s.
The girls raced into a 3-0 lead inside the first ten minutes. Ailish scored two excellent solo-goals, dribbling past a number of St Oswald’s players before finding the back of the net. Soon after, Cathryn got the third with a good finish at the back post.
Before half-time, it was 4-0. Ailish completed her hat-trick with another dazzling run, before scoring an excellent right-footed goal.
Shortly after the interval, St Oswald’s got themselves back into the game, with a quick-fire couple of goals. However, the girls showed great determination to hold out the lead, with Ida and Olivia in particular defending very well.
12th September - Y5 Girls' Football Match - SsPP 3 - 2 St Oswald's
The Y5 Girls' Football team won a thrilling encounter against St Oswald's.
Norah opened the scoring having won the ball back in the St Oswald's half, before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal. Before half-time, St Oswald's scored a quick couple of goals to take the lead going into the interval.
Shortly after half-time, after the St Oswald's goalkeeper had made a couple of outstanding saves, Jess managed to score an equaliser. The girls kept pressing for a winner, which eventually came when Norah cut inside from the left, before expertly finding the back of the net.
The whole team displayed an excellent attitude, and were rewarded with a hard-fought win.
