Competitive Sport plays a big part of life at Ss Peter and Paul. We take part in regular sporting fixtures and events against other schools.

1st December - Y4 girls' football league at Fives
The Year 4 girls' footballers enjoyed their latest visit to Fives. They managed to score plenty of goals across their three games, including Annie scoring four in one match. Juliette was fantastic in goal and the whole squad cannot wait for their next set of fixtures.
29th November - KS2 Cross Country League
A number of children from Key Stage 2 took part in the latest LSSA league meeting at Woodhouse Grove School. It was amazing to see lots of children returning for their second race of the year, and was also nice to see lots of new children sign up for this race. The children showed great perseverance on a cold morning to complete the race, with Ariana and Ted securing top 15 finishes again. Well done to everyone who took part.
27th November - U10 boys' football league match V Meanwood
Meanwood 2 - 2 SsPP
The U10 boys' footballers picked up another point in an end-to-end contest against Meanwood. The boys were very unfortunate to fall behind after some good early pressure, but responded perfectly as James scored an incredible half-volley from his own half. The boys took the lead during the second half after a clinical finish from Kobe, but Meanwood scored a late goal to ensure the points were shared.
24th November - Y2 boys' football league at Fives
The Year 2 boys' footballers won one, drew one and lost one during their most recent visit to Fives. It was great to see a number of different children volunteering to be goalkeeper. The boys defended resolutely, played some excellent attacking football and are really looking forward to their next visit to Fives.
24th November - Y4 girls' football league at Fives

The Year 4 girls' football team won one, drew one and lost one match during their first visit to Fives this year. Ashani and Caitlin played excellently in goal, whilst Annie scored some fantastic individual goals. Everyone played all their matches with a huge smile on their faces! Great work, girls.
21st November - Y6 netball match
St Joseph's, Otley 4-9 SsPP

The Year 6 netball team won in an excellent match against St Joseph's, Otley. Despite going behind in the first quarter, the team showed great resilience, and battled back to win 9-4, with Jess scoring 7 of these points. The whole team represented the school amazingly, and it was great to see all the squad playing in a number of different positions too. Well done, team.

13th November - KS2 North West Leeds Cross Country Final
40 children from Key Stage 2 took part in the North West Leeds Cross Country Final. Despite the tough conditions, all the children ran with a smile on their faces and enjoyed representing the school. A number of children finished within the top 15 for their age group and have qualified for the city finals!

8th November - Leeds KS2 Cross Country League
15 children from Key Stage 2 represented the school at the first Leeds Cross Country league meeting of the year. The children ran excellently and encouraged each other amazingly. A number of children finished in the top 20, whilst two children finished in the top 10 for their age groups. Well done to everyone who ran!


6th November - U10 boys' football league match vs Meanwood
SsPP 4 - 2 Meanwood
The Year 5 boys' footballers made it back-to-back victories with a 4-2 win against Meanwood. The first half was evenly contested, but the boys pulled ahead with two quick goals in the second half to earn the win. Well done to George for his Player of the Match performance. Good work, boys!

4th November - U11 girls' football league match V Beckfield
Beckfield 0 - 3 SsPP
The U11 girls' team followed up their win earlier in the afternoon with another excellent victory against a strong Beckfield team. Jessica made a number of very good saves and there were excellent defensive displays from Emily and Ava to ensure the team didn't concede. Fantastic link up play between Norah, Ellara and Izzy created the chances for Ailish to expertly score a fantastic hat-trick and take the player of the match award.

4th November - U11 girls' football league match V Newlaithes
Newlaithes 1 - 4 SsPP
A fantastic second half comeback by SsPP gave the girls' team the 4 points. In an even first half, Newlaithes took the lead when an unfortunate deflection flew into the net. The team played superbly well in the second half as a change of position for Ailish resulted in 4 fantastic second half goals. Norah, Mia and Izzy played some fantastic passes through to Ailish who finished brilliantly to score 4 goals in one half and deservedly receive the player of the match award.
23rd October- U10 boys' football league match V Beecroft
Beecroft 1 - 7 SsPP
The Year 5 boys' football team earned their first win of the school year with an outstanding performance at Beecroft Primary. Kobe continued his excellent goalscoring form with another hattrick, whilst Dylan, Hugo, Cormac and Theo added to the scoresheet. Well done, boys!
23rd October - U11 girls' football league match V Calverley
SsPP 4 - 1 Calverley
The U11 girls' football team continued their great start to the season with a 4-1 victory in a match high on quality and commitment. Calverley took the lead with a deflected shot before a similar deflected own goal made the score 1-1. It was a tight match with chances at both ends but it was SsPP who took the lead - Izzy scoring from close range following a long throw. It was end to end action in the second half before excellent finishes from Jessica and Norah gave SsPP the victory. The whole team played well with the player of the match being jointly awarded to Norah and Ava.
20th October - U11 boys' football league match V Rawdon St Peter's
SsPP 5 - 0 Rawdon St Peter's
The U11 boys' football team made it 3 wins out of 3 with a fantastic performance against an excellent Rawdon St Peter's team. The match was high quality throughout with some very good football being played by both teams. It was Ollie who gave SsPP the lead with a good left footed finish into the far corner. Dylan doubled the lead with a well taken goal before half-time. In the second half, there were further goals from Ollie, Ted and Hugo - his first goal for the U11 boys' team. The player of the match was Ted whose energy and pressing was incredible throughout the whole game.
14th October- U11 girls' football league match V Farsley Farfield
SsPP 6 - 3 Farsley Farfield
Well done to the U11 girls' football team for another excellent performance in their latest league match. The team played extremely well to beat Farsley Farfield 6 - 3, with Jess, Norah and Ailish getting on the scoresheet. Keep up the great work, girls!

13th October- Y2 boys' football league at Fives
The Year 2 boys footballers enjoyed their first visit to Fives. They managed to win two of their three games, scoring an impressive 11 goals! All the boys played with a fantastic attitude, and are looking forward to their next round of fixtures later in the year. Great work, boys!

9th October - Y5 boys' football league match V Beecroft - SsPP 4 - 5 Beecroft
The Year 5 boys footballers were narrowly defeated by Beecroft in their second league match of the year. The game was played in a great spirit with some great attacking play from both sides. Kobe scored a fantastic hattrick, including a goal from the halfway line, whilst Ben pressed very well to win the ball back and get himself on the scoresheet. Well done, boys!
6th October- Y3 boys' football league fixtures at Fives
The Year 3 boys footballers remain unbeaten after their first round of fixtures at Fives this year. The boys won once and drew their other two games, scoring plenty of goals and defending well. Great start, boys!
6th October- U11 boys' football league match vs Hawksworth - SsPP 4 - 0 Hawksworth
The U11 boys' team made it 2 wins out of 2 with a well-deserved victory over Hawksworth. It was a high quality match which the team controlled well. Excellent defensive displays from Charlie, Josh and Mikey gave the team a solid foundation to build on. A great strike from Ollie and a well-taken goal from Freddie gave SsPP a 2-0 lead at half time. 2 further strikes from Ollie in the second half gave SsPP all 4 points. Well done to the whole team. The player of the match award was shared between Charlie and Joseph.
2nd October- Y5 boys' football league match vs Newlaithes - SsPP 0 - 8 Newlaithes
The Year 5 boys footballers came up against a very good Horsforth Newlaithes team in their first league match of the year. Despite the scoreline, the boys carried on encouraging each throughout and played with a fantastic attitude. Well done to Ben for his Player of the Match performance.
29th September- U11 girls' football league match vs Rawdon St Peter's - SsPP 8 -1 Rawdon St Peter's
The U11 girls' team made a great start to the season with a comfortable victory over Rawdon. 2 goals each from Norah, Jessica and Izzy and a goal each from Ailish and Emilia gave SsPP the win. The whole team played very well with Mia, Olivia and Ava defending superbly, Emily making some excellent saves. and Ellara showing some fantastic skills. Well done, girls.
25th September - Y5 girls' football match vs Ireland Wood - SsPP 0 - 7 Ireland Wood
The Year 5 girls' football team played with great team spirit in their first game of the year. Despite coming up against a strong Ireland Wood team, the girls carried on playing with a smile on their faces and represented the school well. Well done, girls!
19th September - U11 boys' Football League - Yeadon Westfield 1 - 4 SsPP
Westfield and Ss Peter and Paul's kicked off the season in style with a very entertaining opening league match. It was Westfield who started the game brightest and scored with an excellent strike from the edge of the box. A great run and finish by Ollie brought the scores level. In the second half, SsPP tookcontrol of the match. Ollie finished well for his second goal; there was a great strike by Kobe for a debut goal for him, and then finally Dylan ran through to finish well and give SsPP a great start to the season. It was a good all round performance with Joshua being player of the match for a strong defensive performance.
18th September - Y4 boys' football match vs Rawdon St Peter's- SsPP 8 - 7 Rawdon St Peter's
The Year 4 boys footballers won a thrilling contest against Rawdon St Peter's. Both sides scored some excellent goals, but Emre scored the goal of the game with a volley from the half-way line which flew into the top corner. Rawdon St Peter's scored a couple of late goals, but the boys showed great determination to see out the win. Well done, Year 4!
11th September- U11 boys' football match vs Ireland Wood - SsPP 7 - 2 Ireland Wood
Well done to the U11 boys' football team who put in an excellent performance in their first match of the school year. Oliver scored an impressive double-hattrick, and Jack completed the scoring with an excellent half volley. Great work, boys!
