The Opening and Blessing of our St. Francis of Assisi Prayer Garden
The opening and blessing of our new St. Francis of Assisi Prayer Garden was a wonderful day! A special thank you to Mgr Paul Grogan who came along to open and bless our special prayer space and to the Mini-Vinnies for leading our special liturgy!

The planning and making of our St. Francis of Assisi Prayer Garden
The children of Year 6 (2024-2025) kindly donated some of their 'Young Apprentice Challenge' funds to refurbish our school prayer garden.
The Mini-Vinnies got together to plan what our new Prayer Garden should look like!
Here you can see their original plan:
After the prayer garden was created by Mr Holdsworth and a fabulous group of parent helpers, the Mini-Vinnies spent some time planting in the wooden cross structure!
Planting in our new Prayer Garden - September 2025
Once our Prayer Garden was ready, we decided it was time to give it a name!
All parents, staff and children were asked to vote on the name of our new Prayer Garden. St. Francis of Assis was the chosen saint for the following reasons:
- Patron saint of creation and animals
- Teaches care for the world God created
- Promotes peace, kindness, and simplicity
- Strong connection between faith and nature
